For every White person who quotes MLK with impunity and tells me to be nicer and more loving, I ask you.
If I told you my partner was hitting me or called me names all the time would you tell me to just love them more?
For every time I have been afraid of being assaulted, raped or murdered by people walking up to me and saying such loving things as, “dirty nigger bitch show me your tits” (said to me from a parked car while I waited alone at a bus stop), messages threatening rape and death- should I just love those people until they are not abusive shitbags?
Oh right of course I should because after all I’m just some Black bitch fucking up White peoples world by not putting up with or loving their racist asses.
Right how could I forget. POC must always be loving and nice no matter what massa says so we don’t deserve the shit we get. White people can only be decent to POC if we deserve it by being really nice and bowing and scraping.
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly an ally or thinking person can suddenly become every asshole who has caused me fear and pain because of the color of my skin.
